Fulton Hogan has been operating in Northland since 1989. We’re a Civil Contracting business and are probably best known for the road maintenance we undertake for local authorities and the NZ Transport Agency on the State Highway network. Our Workshop Manager, Nigel Dixon, has been working with Paul for close to 25 years and I have personally worked with him and the team for the last ten years. They’ve built most of our road maintenance trucks, decks and trailers for the Northland region and in recent years have also done a lot of work for our Auckland region. The guys at ten4 know and understand our business. They’re really good at working solutions into the builds to make our plant safer and more efficient. We find Ten4’s service to be professional and timely. They really listen to our needs and most importantly they back their products. We are a civil contracting business with multiple contracts on the go at any one time – any issues with machinery and equipment can cause unwanted downtime and costs. For that reason we use and recommend Ten4 for repairs and maintenance as well as the design and build of gear. Over the last 5 years they have manufactured three decks, a transport trailer, and a 4-axle tip trailer for us. Their Chief Designer really knows his stuff! We had Ten4 Engineering design and build a demonstration trailer that we use for simulating kitchen fires and how to put them out. We had an idea of what we wanted and they suggested a few improvements. We use it all around Northland so in our brief we stated that it had to be light, easy to tow, robust, simple to set up and safe. The finished trailer is awesome and works even better than expected! We were pleased with the build process too and they kept us well informed throughout. They used good quality materials and their service was excellent. They’re an ethical company to deal with. Based on our experience we have recommended their services to two other Fire Service divisions and we plan to use them again.

We specialise in rock cartage so our gear takes a hiding at times! We have about 90 items of plant and fleet and Ten4 plays a huge part in keeping that running. Over the years they’ve also custom built us a few truck and trailer units and they’ve lasted well.

When you’re collecting a perishable product like milk, fleet reliability is critical so Ten4 is an integral part of the kauri fleet services operation, providing excellent support to our business, on a daily basis, to keep our fleet on the road and to a high standard of repair.
We’ve worked with them since they began operation. They do the repairs and maintenance of our truck and trailer fleet plus we use them for general engineering and welding repairs.
They handle at least two engineering jobs a week for us, virtually every week of the year.
We like their “can do attitude” and no job is too big or too small. Every repair request is met with a timeframe, an agreed repair plan and, where necessary, they contact the equipment manufacturers for technical support. We get quality workmanship, from a certified workshop with skilled employees. We also get the added benefit of In-house certification which ensures that repairs are returned to service promptly.
Their Foreman, Gareth Eady, is in daily contact. I really appreciate the effort he puts into accommodating my needs on behalf of Fonterra. Repairs are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard, with open communication throughout the process and regular updates to ensure we know the status of repairs.
Ten4 is an efficient operation, with excellent service, prompt accounts and simple processes to rectify any queries.
